MIDDLESBROUGH COMPLEX CARE CENTRE OPENS DOORS TO PATIENTS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Elysium Healthcare are pleased to announce a state of the art complex care centre at the heart of Middlesbrough will open its doors to welcome its first residents this month.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bridge, in Middlehaven, will provide rehabilitation, long-term care, respite and palliative care for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 40-bed facility will work in close partnership with local hospitals and healthcare professionals to provide the highest quality care and rehabilitation for people needing highly specialised support and therapies.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Care Centre Director Shaun O\u2019Gara said he was delighted to be able to welcome the first residents to The Bridge this month.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThe opening of the Bridge is great news for Middlesbrough and the people we will be supporting. This will be a centre of excellence for the delivery of highly specialised complex care services.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will focus on people\u2019s abilities, not their limitations, as we support them, and their loved ones, while they are with us.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will very much be bringing an integrated approach to the care we provide at The Bridge to ensure residents get the care and treatment that is most appropriate and effective for them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The new look care centre, part of Elysium\u2019s Neurological division, will create at least 50 new jobs for the city, with more likely to follow as the service grows in size.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bridge will feature 40 state of the art care suites over four floors, a therapeutic swimming pool and spa area, a gym and therapy rooms equipped with specialist equipment,\u00a0 <\/span>a lifestyle kitchen for independent living skills assessment and programmes.<\/span><\/p>\n

On February 22nd The Bridge will be hosting a special celebration to mark World Encephalitis Day which will include a talk by Professor Nick Alderman on Reducing the Catastrophic Impact of Behaviour Disturbance Following Herpes Simplex Encephalitis. This will be followed by refreshments and the opportunity to help raise money for the Encephalitis Society.
