Professional Experience

Charlene has over 20 years’ experience of working as a mental health professional treating adults and young people. She is a UKCP/BACP registered therapist, a Gestalt trained group facilitator and an EMDR practitioner.

She has worked across a broad spectrum of services including NHS forensic healthcare/male prisons, private rehabilitation and detoxification units and private psychiatric hospitals.

Her expertise lies in helping those presenting with behavioural/substance addictions, relationship issues and childhood trauma. She also has substantial experience of working with firefighters, prison officers and rescue workers experiencing trauma and complex PTSD.

Charlene uses a range of interventions such as psychodynamic therapy, Gestalt, solution focused therapy, CBT and transpersonal therapy according to the patient and their individual needs.

Charlene is warm and empathic, yet direct and honest.
