Environment & Facilities

Located within the spacious grounds of the hospital, our school provides a calm and purposeful environment which encourages students to concentrate, learn and develop in a caring, supportive setting.

We offer small teaching groups with extra support from teaching assistants where required.

Safeguarding

We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all of our young people and ensure consistent delivery through:

  • Development and implementation of good safeguarding policies and procedures, including safer recruitment
  • Ensuring all staff receive specialist training, and are aware of and follow our safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Awareness and implementation of the Prevent strategy
  • Rigorous monitoring of internet usage and robust filtering of appropriate websites
  • Promotion of keeping young people safe throughout the curriculum, with emphasis on delivery through PSHE lessons

At Brighton & Hove Clinic School, we believe safeguarding is EVERYONE’s responsibility. Any concerns from external parties may be sent to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, Nicola Beil at NBeil@elysiumeducation.co.uk

Security

All staff and young people are expected to be vigilant in matters of security concerning both people and property.

ID Cards

Each member of staff is issued with an ID card, which must be worn at all times.

Visitor Access to School

All visitors, including parents/guardians, must be met by a member of staff at the school entrance and signed into the visitor’s book. Visitors will be issued with a Visitor’s Badge which must be worn/clearly visible at all times during their visit.
