Following an interview process, 13 people were appointed to undertake this important role, which will see them visit services across the region and evaluate a range of areas, including health and safety, activities, menus and other quality checks. They will also meet with people supported within the services. After their visits, they will collate their findings and report back.

Lisa Anderson, Group Home Lead for the South East and Registered Manager at Gresham House, said: “The services across the area support people with learning disabilities and autism. We invited applications from across the different homes and held an interview process via Teams. Following that, we are thrilled to have successfully appointed a team of 13 Elysium quality checkers.

“They will begin their work this month, going out to visit the homes around the area and reporting back. We will all then meet up in January to discuss findings, as well as actions that can be taken from their suggestions.

“As well as being incredibly valuable as Experts By Experience, this will also be an opportunity to meet different people, as well as bring new ideas to their own home. It is essential that the people who are supported in our services have their voices and thoughts heard and action taken. The team are excited to be getting started with their invaluable work.”
