The staff and management at Ty Grosvenor were proud see that their latest report from HIW highlighted the dedication and commitment by everyone in delivery of good care.
The rehabilitation service in Wrexham is for men and women with a mental health condition including those with a personality disorder.
The team’s objective is to work in partnership with patients to build a programme of care focusing on recovery and rehabilitation. Patients are supported to improve their independence and prepare for life in the community.
Report highlights:
- Quality of Management and Leadership: ‘We found improvements had been made in a number of areas since our previous inspections at the hospital. There appeared to be better oversight of clinical and operational issues by senior management’.
- Quality of Patient Experience: ‘All patients who completed a patient experience questionnaire rated the care and service provided by the hospital as either very good or good. Staff interacted and engaged with patients appropriately and treated patients with dignity and respect’.
- Safe and Effective Care: ‘Staff appeared committed to providing safe and effective care. Safe and therapeutic responses were in place to manage challenging behaviour and promote the safety and wellbeing of patients‘.
- Communicating Effectively: ‘Staff communicated appropriately and effectively with patients, and patients were confident in approaching staff to engage in discussions. The patients we talked to during the inspection spoke positively about their interactions with staff during their time at the hospital’.
In response to the report Louise Burrows, Registered Manager at Ty Grosvenor said: “Over the past 18 months the staff have shown resilience and commitment to make Ty Grosvenor what it is today, as we strive for constant and never-ending improvement in both our standards and performance.”
